    Blending a traditional Chinese aesthetic with Western dance to extraordinary results, Shen Wei Dance Arts presents Undivided Divided, a site-specific piece where the dancers interact with multimedia, including video and sculpture.

    Sep. 12 - 13, 2013
    For their Kennedy Center debut, Japanese choreographer Saburo Teshigawara and KARAS bring 2009 work Mirror and Music, which explores the simultaneously tangible and intangible nature of music and the reflection we see when we look into the mirror.

  • Hubbard Street Dance Chicago

    Oct. 17 - 19, 2013
    Chicago's Hubbard Street Dance returns with a mixed repertory program to include the DC premiere of Mats Ek's Casi-Casa, "the masterwork of a supremely keen observer of human behavior" (Time Out Chicago).

    Oct. 29 - 31, 2013
    A recipient of a MacArthur Fellowship in 2000, Susan Marshall brings her New York–based company for its Kennedy Center debut with Play/Pause, a new work that blends virtuoso athleticism, ordinary movement, and gesture.

  • Matthew Bourne's Sleeping Beauty--New Adventures

    Renowned British choreographer Matthew Bourne returns with his latest re-imagining of a ballet classic. Danced by his company, this haunting new production is a gothic romance; a supernatural love story that even the passage of time cannot hinder.

    America's cultural ambassador to the world, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater returns to the Kennedy Center for its annual engagement with its winning combination of captivating new works and enduring classics.

  • Compagnie Käfig / CCN Creteil et Val-de-Marne

    Feb. 28 - Mar. 1, 2014
    Compagnie Käfig makes its Kennedy Center debut with Artistic Director Mourad Merzouki's, Agwa and Correria. The all-male Brazilian cast performs these celebrated works inspired by hip-hop, bossa nova, and capoeira.

    Helmed by multi award-winning British choreographer Wayne McGregor, Random Dance brings their multimedia work FAR, with score by Ben Frost and jaw-dropping visuals, including a computerized pin board of 3,200 LED lights.
