General Arts/Education/Disabilities Services
The SCAF/SCAC offers general training programs and services related to the integration of arts and education for people with disabilities. These general training programs and services are designed for diverse audiences across the state. Services include: intensive teacher/artist/parent/arts program staff training on how to provide inclusive arts learning activities; one-time/one-day training; one-on-one consultation; information and resources for teachers, artists, parents, and arts program staff on specific aspects of inclusive arts learning activities and programming; and programs that support the career development of artists with disabilities.
Training for Residency Artists and Arts Organizations
Three years of targeted training in accessibility issues has produced a corps of artists who are ready to teach the arts to students outside mainstream K-12 settings. SCAC is currently arranging teaching opportunities for qualified teaching artists. Artists who are already on SCAC’s Roster of Approved Artists AND have been trained in accessibility issues will be strongly encouraged to conduct residencies and perform in settings that are outside the scope of SCAC’s typical venues.
