Associação Vida, Sensibilidade e Arte/Very Special Arts do Brasil was founded in 1990 by Professor Albertina Brasil Santos (1925-2004). Very Special Arts do Brasil is a non-profit entity composed of volunteer artists, arts groups, educators, researchers, and families who work nationally to promote the artistic expression of people with disabilities and their integration into society. Through various chapters, working in partnership with public and private organizations, Very Special Arts do Brasil offers festivals, national conferences of art, education seminars, and training courses that educate the general public, educators and artists, on the abilities of artists with disabilities and promote inclusion and diversity in the celebration of artistic excellence.
