Organizational Snapshot:

Dedicated to providing art activities for people with disabilities in Jamaica and throughout the Caribbean, VSA arts of Jamaica organizes a variety of programs geared towards facilitating environments conducive to self-expression. Programs offered include arts and curriculum writing workshops for special education teachers and social workers, theater and visual arts training sessions, and dance therapy workshops. Additionally, VSA arts of Jamaica has organized an inner-city mural painting project and has launched a Start with the Arts pilot program. Traditionally, VSA arts of Jamaica has collaborated on many projects with the Jamaica Association for Persons with Mental Retardation, School of Hope for Children with Mental Retardation, the National Culture Group for the Blind, Kids on the Block puppet group, Ward Theatre, and Kidstuff Young Peoples Theatre. VSA arts of Jamaica was formed in 1987.
