VSA arts du Mali, also known as the Troupe Théâtrale des Personnes Handicapées de Bamako HINESSO, was founded in 1992 to provide disability awareness, to fight against discrimination, to illustrate alternatives to begging as a lifestyle for people with disabilities, and to promote the arts in Mali. The Troupe Théâtrale HINESSO is a multidisciplinary theater troupe, composed of artists with disabilities, that performs educational theater pieces, traditional music, songs, and dances at villages and cities around the country. The theater troupe is also a regular performer in the national festival "Théâtre des Réalités" organized annually by the Ministry of Culture and has performed on national television as part of a weekly cultural program. The Troupe Théâtrale HINESSO joined VSA arts in 2000.
