Organizational Snapshot:

VSA arts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ( VSA arts-KSA ) is housed at the Help Center, a specialized day care facility that provides life skills development for children with developmental disabilities from birth to 18 years of age. The Help Center's holistic approach, which makes the center unique in Saudi Arabia, not only provides children with a comprehensive environment taught by a multidisciplinary staff, but also encourages the full participation of parents, siblings, and close relatives in many activities. VSA arts-KSA works closely with children enrolled at the Help Center, as well as children from other centers and schools throughout Saudi Arabia. Program coordinators in each region of the country ensure that specialized institutions in those areas have access to VSA arts programming such as teacher training sessions; visual, performing, and literary arts workshops; national competitions; projects involving the participation of other specialized centers; as well as the annual arts festival held at the Help Center. VSA arts-KSA also provides vocational and professional training to people with disabilities that encourages greater self-reliance, self-esteem, and inclusion in society. VSA arts-KSA joined VSA arts in 1994.
