CVS Caremark All Kids Can… CREATE!

Seven-year-old Grace of Akron, Iowa, was one of 10 young artists selected to travel to Washington, D.C., in June 2008 for the first All Kids Can…CREATE! exhibition sponsored by CVS Caremark and VSA.

Leading up to the trip, Grace was “extremely excited,” says her mother, Dawn. “She talked about it all day long!”

Six months later, “Grace still tells people about her trip to D.C.,” says Dawn. “As parents, we couldn't have been more proud for her. It was exciting to see a group like CVS have an awards ceremony for children with disabilities.”

“The local news media coverage of Grace's selection has helped people realize that people with disabilities can do great things too,” Dawn says. “This was a chance for her to be recognized for her ability, not her disability. It was thrilling to see others amazed by our ‘Amazing Grace.’”
