VSA/Volkswagen Group of America, Inc., Exhibition Program

VSA, under generous sponsorship from Volkswagen Group of America, Inc., launches an annual call for entries to identify emerging artists with disabilities, ages 16-25. This collaboration supports these artists at a critical time when many are deciding whether to pursue the arts as a career. The program validates, and helps finance, that life-defining choice. Fifteen (15) finalists are awarded a total of $60,000 in cash awards that is distributed as follows: $20,000 grand prize, $10,000 first award, $6,000 second award, and 12 awards of excellence in the amount of $2,000. Finalists are honored during an awards ceremony on Capitol Hill, and their artwork is displayed in a nation-wide touring exhibition that debuts at both the Smithsonian Institution and Kennedy Center in the fall.
